Cornhole

There is nothing quite like sitting back and playing a game of cornhole on a warm summer evening.  If you haven't grown up in Ohio like I did, then the name cornhole is probably something that sounds a little peculiar.  And I don't blame you for thinking that! It's actually a bean bag toss game that is fabulous for kids and adults.  It doesn't matter if you are old or young, big or small, athletic or a clutz.  This game is for everyone.

The game involves two wooden boards that are placed around 30 feet from one another.  The boards have a 6" hole towards the top of the boards.  You generally play with 4 people and in teams of 2.  The partners stand at the opposite boards playing against the opponent on the same board is them.  You have 8 bags total, 4 of each color.  YOu take turns alternating between you and your opponent until all the bags are thrown.  A bag in the hole equals three points and a bag on the board equals 1 point.  At the end of the round, you tally up the points for each team and then the difference is awarded to the winners.  Game place goes up to 21 and you must win by two.

This is a great game for not only family play, but when you have a big group together. You can organize a nice little tournament with some prizes to award.  And really the best thing about this game is that nobody is excluded. YOu would never be able to put together a basketball tournament or anything like that, but you can do this with cornhole. Its truly a fantastic game that's suitable for the entire family.
